Ruby began her professional life as a musician and performer. Years of working as a pianist, clarinetist and singer enabled her to develop a strong ear for tuning, and an understanding of the powerful relationship between player and instrument. Dismayed by the decline of piano production and servicing in the UK, Ruby decided to train as a piano technician. She studied under the tutorage of the highly-respected Robert King, and was awarded a Diploma from the Piano Tuning Academy, one of the only education centres of its kind in the world. Passionate about keeping the trade alive, and determined to create an accessible piano tuning service for the modern world, she created Ruby Tunes.
