Our Piano Tuning Services
At Ruby Tunes, we offer a range of piano services to maintain and preserve the quality of your instrument, extend its life, and bring more joy to your playing.

Please note - if a piano has not been tuned in the last 12 months, it is likely to need an extended tuning session.
Every piano is unique, and for that reason it is difficult to provide an accurate quote without seeing the piano in-person. At the beginning of your tuning appointment, Ruby will assess your piano, discuss your options, and provide a more accurate quote. All work (and prices) will be agreed upon by you at the start of the session.

Fine Tuning
A fine tune of all 240+ strings of the piano, for uprights and grands. Suitable for pianos which are regularly tuned, and takes approximately two hours.

Grand Piano Cleaning
The horizontal body of the grand piano collects dust overtime. This effects both the beauty of the instrument, and the mechanics of play. Give your grand piano the spring-clean it deserves with a thorough inspection and service!
£45

Extended tuning
A piano that has not been tuned in the last 12 months will likely be resistant when tuned. An extended tuning allows time for a 'second pass' on troublesome strings, giving your piano the extra time and attention it needs (up to 3 hour session).

Regulation and Repairs
Over time, small shifts within the piano's mechanics can cause frustrating problems such as clicking sounds and sticking keys. Regular professional servicing keeps a piano in working order, and can even extend its life.
Approx £45 per hour

Pitch raise
If your piano has fallen significantly below concert pitch, an over-pull tuning is needed prior to fine tuning, in order to restore the piano to concert pitch. This is called a pitch raise and can be completely in one session, lasting around 3-4 hours.
£160

Discounts
Customers who have their piano tuned twice a year pay a discount rate of £75 per tuning.
Discounts offered to charitable organisations and venues with multiple pianos - please enquire for details.

Payment is due on completion of work. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a £40 cancellation fee.
On the rare occasion that a piano's condition means it cannot be tuned, a full analysis is given, and a call-out fee of £30 is charged.
