Our Piano Tuning Services and Prices
At Ruby Tunes, we offer a range of piano services to maintain and preserve the quality of your instrument, extend its life, and bring more joy to your playing. Take a look below at our three main tuning options, and our additional services.

How do I know which tuning service is right for me?
Don't worry if you are not sure - this is something Ruby will assess and discuss with you at the start of your appointment. All work, and prices will agreed upon before proceeding with the tuning session.
Every piano is unique and so it is impossible to give an accurate quote before seeing a piano in person, however, if you would like an idea of which tuning service might be suitable for your piano, take a look at our tuning services below and watch our video about how you can measure the pitch of your piano at home before your appointment.

As always, feel free to contact us, and we can advise you on which service you might need.

1
Standard Fine Tuning
A fine tune of all 240+ strings of the piano, for upright pianos and grand pianos. A standard tuning is suitable for pianos which have been tuned regularly, kept in a stable environment, and have been tuned in the last 18 months and takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

2
Extended Fine Tuning
A piano that has not been tuned in several years, or that has undergone significant shifts in temperature/humidity will be resistant when tuned. An extended tuning allows time for a 'second pass', giving your piano the extra time and attention it needs, lasting up to 2 hours 30 minutes.

Pitch Raise
If your piano has fallen below concert pitch, or has inconsistent pitch, an over-pull tuning is needed prior to fine tuning. This process is called a pitch raise and can be completed in one 3 hour session. This is ideal for pianos that have been neglected or not tuned for many years.

Minor Repairs and Regulation
Over time, small shifts within the piano's mechanics can cause frustrating problems. Ruby Tunes offers small, on-the-go repairs, part replacement and regulation to solve common problems including:

-
Sticky keys
-
Missing keytops
-
Clicking sounds
-
Pedal inefficiency or creaking
-
Bouncing hammers
-
Notes not sounding

Cleaning Services
The body of the piano collects dust overtime in places only a technician can reach! This effects both the beauty of the instrument, and the mechanics of play. Give your piano the spring-clean it deserves with a thorough cleaning service before your tuning session, lasting 1 hour.

Appointments cancelled with less than 72 hours’ notice will incur a £40 cancellation fee.
