Meet Ruby - a Piano Tuner near you

Hello, I'm Ruby and I tune pianos! I began my professional life as a musician and performer. Years of working as a pianist, clarinetist and singer helped develop my musical ear, and showed me the powerful relationship between player and instrument. I am no concert pianist - but I find so much joy in sitting down at the piano on a quiet afternoon and working on a piece of Debussy or Clara Schumann.

I began looking into piano tuning as a way to connect further with my instrument. I was dismayed to find that piano tuning is a rapidly declining skill here in the UK. And so, I decided to train as a piano technician! I studied under the tutorage of the highly-respected Robert King, and was awarded a Diploma from the Piano Tuning Academy, one of the only education centres of its kind in the world.

I am passionate about keeping the trade of piano tuning alive, but also determined to make it more accessible and affordable. I always try to demystify my process for customers, explaining some basics on the day, and writing a detailed report on their piano which they can refer back to after the session. I hope to leave every customer feeling that they know a little more about their piano after each session.
